Do As Infinity [BIO]

Do As Infinity is a Japanese pop rock band. Currently consisting of 伴都美子 (Tomiko Van, vocalist) and Ryo Owatari (guitarist), several of their songs have been used as themes for Japanese television shows, movies, video games, and anime, which gained them a great amount of popularity both in Japan and worldwide.

They were formed in Tokyo in 1999, and debuted as a trio the same year with Dai Nagao as composer and leader. In 2003 their greatest hits album Do The Best achieved million sales in Japan.

The group disbanded in September 2005 and performed their last live concert at the Nippon Budokan. Each member moved onto other musical projects: Tomiko Van began a solo career; Ryo Owatari dedicated his time to the 3-piece band Missile Innovation and supporting other bands/artists on guitars; and Dai Nagao continued acting as a composer for various Avex Trax artists.

After 3 years of inactivity, the band announced their comeback on September 29, 2008 (the same day they originally began activities as a band and the same day they disbanded in 2005). However, the original composer of the group, Dai Nagao, did not rejoin. They surprised everyone when they played in a-nation '08 without any previous announcement, and later held a concert the 30th of September that same year.
